You Deserve Justice After A Fen-Phen Injury in Oklahoma

Fen-Phen Diet Drug Withdrawn from Market

The anti-obesity combination Fen-Phen drug was withdrawn from the market in 1997 after it was linked to heart-valve disease. It consisted of two drugs, fenfluramine and phentermine.

Fenfluramine, and later, a related drug, dexfenfluramine, was marketed by American Home Products, now known as Wyeth.

While Phentermine was not shown to cause harmful effects, fenfluramine usage was linked to grave consequences.

Wyeth made drugs marketed as Redux and Pondimin, which were used as the fenfluramine half of the fen-phen combination formula. Medical studies have linked Pondimin and Redux to heart valve disease.

A Mayo Clinic study suggested that as high as one-third of patients sampling Fen-Phen had evidence of heart valve disease.

In addition to heart valve disease, the use of fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine has been found to increase the risk of developing Primary Pulmonary Hypertension or (PPH), a rare disease of that causes the progressive narrowing of the blood vessels of the lungs.

Don't Delay — The Statute of Limitations May Jeopardize Your Fen-Phen Lawsuit

If you or a loved one has suffered a Fen-Phen injury, contact the Law Offices of Jeff Martin. Do not delay seeking legal assistance. The statute of limitations restricts the amount of time you have to file a lawsuit. Your legal rights may be in jeopardy if you delay. You may be entitled to compensation, but a dangerous drugs lawsuit must be filed before the statute of limitations expires. It's important to take action sooner than later while witnesses' memories are fresh and evidence remains intact.
